Bonjour, Paris Fashion Week!

Ooh-la-la just one more sleep—c’est vrai, tomorrow morning we’ll be waking up in beautiful Par-ii just in time for Paris Fashion Week!!

We’re stoked for our third trip to show and sell our fall/winter 2013 collection. After working feverishly on our lookbook, we are finally ready to bring our Canadian charm back to Paris!

This coming season we're talking both neutral and bright hues, monochromatic and colour-blocked looks, structured frocks and laser cuts.

I guess we should start heading to the airport...

Stay tuned for pics and updates via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Until then, au revoir mes amis!!!

In the GC studio: Valerie Chong

Happy Monday, all! We hope you're not letting the bleak weather get you down--we're trying to keep cheery and warm in the GC studio with some good tunes and company! As promised, our second GC crew feature highlights one of our communication femmes, Valerie Chong!

Valerie organizes all the good stuff--media and press, as well as updates our Pinterest account and very own blog!!

Here's a little more on our social media specialist:

Hometown: Toronto

Favourite city: Toronto—though New York City is the next city on my bucket list!

Stomping grounds: I love to shop, so I'll often make time for some retail therapy in Markham or hang out with friends at bubble tea cafes.

Favourite grub in the city: I just can’t choose—I LOVE food.

Most coveted trend: I love fresh spring and summer trends; I love off the shoulder shirts and shorts.

Favourite GC moment: There are way too many, but if I had to choose one I’d say the Midsummer Affair; before we set up we were lounging by the pool and soaking in the sun. The evening was a blast and the food was awesome!

There you have it, our first communication gal! Hope you're all enjoying our GC crew feature! Stay tuned because next time we'll be talking to Sarah McGowan, our super talented design assistant.

Hope y'all had a rad weekend!

In the GC studio: Stefanie Ayoub

Behind the face of every company is a team of individuals who make everything possible, and that is no less true here in the GC studio. So, over the next little while we want to put a face to each of our rad interns and assistants who help us bring our ideas to fruition.

Before we say any more let us first introduce Stefanie Ayoub-- Stefanie is one of our two design assistants!

If she's not in the studio sewing or pattern drafting pieces before a runway show, she can be found in her stomping grounds-- Dundas West and Roncesvalles. A few of her fave locales in the area include Churchill's, Communist's Daughter, Wallflower, The Ace, and Cherrybomb Coffee (hint to those who're looking to snag a new hangout spot in the city).

Here's a little more on the design maven:

Hometown: Toronto
Favourite city: Paris
Favourite grub in the city: Fried chicken and kale salad at The Ace
Favourite style blog: Textstyles
Most coveted trend: All black all the time
Your style icon: Grace Kelly
Favourite GC moment: During my first summer as an intern, Kirk and Stephen invited me out to this "white" party at Harthouse. Being the shy new intern, I was so thrilled just to get invited. On top of that, they lent me a beautiful white silk organza dress for the night. I felt so special. That was the moment when I felt like I had become a Greta girl!

There you have it-- our first GC crew feature!!! Stay tuned-- Next time we'll give you a closer look into one of our communication femmes, Valerie Chong.

Until then, hope you're all having a happy hump day!

SAG Awards 2013: Greta C's Favourite Femmes

January has been a month brimming with Hollywood glamour and we can't help but swoon over the fashion this award season. That being said, we thought it’d be a crime to dismiss the fashion from Sunday night’s SAG awards.

So, without further ado here’s GC’s top SAG award belles:

Marion Cotillard

We were blown away with Marion Cotillard’s strapless, dual-coloured Dior Haute Couture gown. Adorned with a pair of classic black Dior heels and Chopard jewels, Cotillard looked dazzling. Oh, and we can't forget her new do—the asymmetrical bob gives her the perfect aura of elegance.

Amanda Seyfried

Navy was definitely a favourite hue on Sunday's red carpet and Amanda Seyfried rocked this trend in a     timeless, yet dramatic Zac Posen gown. Seyfried glamified the gown with a statement art deco Lorraine Schwartz necklace. We also loved how the ‘Les Mis’ star added some retro flavour with side-parted, 1940s-esque hair.

     Michelle Dockery

We love how the Downtown Abbey actress chose a daring gown that bared a little cleavage, yet still maintained her ultra sleek and ladylike look. The black satin, vintage Chado Ralph Rucci was the perfect choice for the starlet. We love how she played up her look with 1920s-style waves giving us a taste of a little old-school beauty.

      Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain was another Hollywood starlet that swooned us with her strapless, ruby red Alexander McQueen gown. With a glimmering Harry Winston necklace, Chastain brought the perfect amount of bling to her already elegant look.  Chastain opted for classic, Hollywood glam-like hair. The effortless, yet enchanting look made her a frontrunner in last night’s red carpet roster.

There you have it—our favourite SAG darlings. Did you get a chance to catch the awards show? We’d love to hear which starlets were on your best-dressed list.

      Until then!

      Much love,

      Greta C.
